Modern Pets will return for a second season of 10 episodes, same amount of episodes as the first season, in 2014. A new character named Violet will be introduced in this season. The season 1 finale mentioned in the episode Late Night with George 'Super' Fly that the second season will premiere on January 12, 2014.

On December 20, 2013 it was announced that Modern Pets will get a third season and will be connected with season 2 with an interesting story arc. This season will also contain 10 episodes, as previous seasons.
